I write today with great excitement and passion to impact my world with all that God has deposited in me as an individual. I was invited to a youth seminar last weekend where I presented a paper on the importance Effective Leadership as a Tool for Youth Development.
I had the privilege of speaking to a congregation of youth leaders from different youth executives of the Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria, Egba Diocese for about an hour and a half - with rapt attention from my audience and the opportunity to share my experience and the need to invest in youths through effective leadership qualities and attributes, I identified and learned a number of things which I will enumerate here as being required in our society as a panacea for youth development.
- Come as you are - When I was asked to take the lecture on the topic of Effective Leadership as a Tool for Youth Development, little did I know that I was been ushered into another level of service to help my fellow youths to grow and get inspired to change and rule their world. I saw in the eyes of the audience a people ready to grow, ready to take the challenge, ready to achieve, ready to go all the way against all odds. You don’t have to be a Professor or Emeritus Scholar before you can make impact - there is nobody on planet earth that does not have at least one gift or something to offer. Look around you, there maybe a boy, a girl, school, community that you have the capacity to add some value to in order to grow…make time out today to impact your world through that inherent gift of yours.
- Its not how big or robust the vessel is - You can do more than you envisage is the deposit in you. Going before these young ladies and gentlemen, I felt a great need to take them to a new level because they were full of expectations. I was able to use the few life experiences I have had as a leader to buttress the salient points of my presentation - ensuring that it was not all about theory or concepts but practical life situations to ad flesh to life principles. You can do it too.
- Mentors are required - For every ability or gift to develop, it has to be well nurtured in order to grow to become the jewel that everybody will adore. Have you identified an individual or youth with abilities that are capable of changing our world, making impact in his/her own sphere of influence or cause a paradigm shift in the face of mankind - encourage such a person please. You will be glad you did. Today, Tiger Woods won the 14th major title in the US Open Playoff… if his father did not give not identify his person for this sport and encourage him then, would we have Tiger Woods dominating the sport today?
Help others to grow because in due time, you will be glad that you contributed your own part towards the development of mankind.
Enjoy your week

God bless you for choosing to impact the youth. I am passionate about Nigerian Youth.
It pains my heart that the older generation are not paying REAL attention to the need of this leaders of tomorrow. There is so much LIP service to their needs and little or no action to help them.
If the elders refuse to help the youth grow in the knowledge of the Lord and show them good examples, what right do they have to query the same youth when they ignorantly fall for satan antics?
