In continuation of the series on ‘Soaring Like Eagles’, I present the penultimate part of the series to you today. I have taken this time off the series to allow for proper assimilation and application of the lessons from the eagle’s lifestyle. I have also been very busy with the logistics of relocating and settling down. The dearth of posts on this website over the past few weeks has been as a result of this change – we all have to go through one or more of this at some points in life in order to align ourselves with our goals and purpose in life. It should be noted here that, one of the main reasons why the eagle stands out amongst birds is because of its wise judgment and the rare innate abilities it possesses as a bird. Some of these would be shared in today’s article.
After the rehearsals of finding a right partner and consummation of their love in marriage by the eagles, what follows is to find a very suitable place and commence the process of building their home. The eagles (male and female) take their time to find a proper location to build their home and invest a lot of time and energy into this in order to ensure a secured brooding haven for their eaglets. Unlike other birds that build nests that can be easily destroyed, the eagles avoid this hazard to their homes by siting it in high inaccessible locations and use the best of wood and craftsmanship to build a nest that weighs about 1000 – 2000 kilogrammes. Furthermore, in preparation for the laying of her eggs and birth of the eaglets, the mother eagle shows her caring nature by pulling some downy fur from her chest to give a soothing effect to her eaglets . She uses these to make a very warm and soft bedding over a shallow brooding area (usually about 0.5M) on top of the nest for the eaglets.
“The black pot maybe a dirty and unappealing container, it is used to churn out different delicacies in a restaurant”
“Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase” – Job8:7
Never judge or measure a man by his physical appearance or little shortcoming in his/her life – you don’t have the slightest idea of the innate abilities of the being. This assertion is the case with the eaglets. When the eaglet is born, it looks like the ugliest creature you can ever behold but that is the worst physical state it can ever be. The eaglets are hatched looking like very unattractive and have very great appetite for food. They have raccoon looking eyes and funny body structure. Even though these outward characteristics temporary put them to the rear, they will eventually grow into beautiful birds, soaring high in the skies (after learning the art from the mothers) and possess excellent innate abilities which make them stand out among birds in the world.
Morale:
1. Empty barrels make much noise – The outward appearance is deceptive. It is not the kind of clothes, you wear or the car you drive or the way you walk that determines what you are or what you will be. It is what you have within you, in your heart, your mindset that determines in its entirety the height you will attain in life. The measure of a man is a function of the makeup of the man. What is in your barrel? Do you have a big frame (barrel) that has no worth in real practical terms? Take time out today to add value to yourself. After all, it is your life.
2. Preparation is very key to sustaining any major project that we venture into in life. When the preparation is lacking project expiration is inevitable.
3. If something is to be built to last, a lot of factors must be taken into consideration and time must be invested wisely. The right values for growth, development and sustainability must be imbibed to ensure that the project last.
